Description: Position Overview: The Business Development/Marketing Specialist is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities for the company by developing strategic plans, building relationships with potential clients, researching market trends, and closing deals to drive revenue growth. Additionally, this role will support and develop marketing strategies, content creation, manage social media presence, analyze campaign performance, and collaborate with other teams to achieve goals.Essential Functions – The individual in this role must be able to perform the essential functions of the role, and meet the following occupational demands, with or without a reasonable accommodation:Business Development:

  • Strategic Planning: In partnership with the Company Leaders and Group Managers, develop growth strategies, identify new markets, and spot opportunities to expand the company’s reach.
  • Track incoming potential client/RFP information within the UPI CRM to provide visibility to leadership
  • Work with internal project and support teams to provide potential RFP/Client information as it relates to their role(s).
  • Identify prospects for new clients and nurture relationships with new and existing clients/PMs.
  • Communication: cold calling, client outreach and articulate ideas clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing.

Marketing:

  • Maintain and update relevant company marketing materials
  • Draft presentations for client meetings
  • Assist in execution of content creation for social media channels, i.e Facebook, LinkedIn
  • Complete project dashboards and reports as assigned
  • Provide recommendations for future strategic initiatives through analysis

Group / Administrative Support:

  • Schedule client meetings and coordinate client meetings/visits with Company Leaders and Group Managers.
  • Track relevant work experience and update coordinating marketing materials

Other:

  • Attend company/client events
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Environment:

  • This work will be performed in an office setting.
  • Office environment with moderate noise levels.

Physical Demands – The individual in this role must be able to meet the following occupational demands:

  • Working on a computer for 2+ consecutive hours
  • This position will require continuous sitting/standing.
  • Mostly sedentary role with the need to move around the office to copy, scan, fax and file.

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work:

  • Due to the significant responsibilities of this role, it is essential it be filled on a full-time basis only – 40 hours with possible overtime.
  • For a nonexempt role, to ensure outstanding service levels, it is necessary that the individual in this role be able to maintain a regular and reliable schedule.
  • This role has the option to work a combination of the hours remotely and in the office with your supervisor’s discretion.

Travel Requirements:

  • This role should anticipate 25% travel, including by air.

Required or Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors or Associates degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Management or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Willing and able to learn new and different software and internet-based platforms.
  • Moderate to advanced computer skills. Experience with Canva or InDesign

Compensation Information:This role will be based out of our Duluth, MN office. The pay range is $50,200 – 75,300 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for annual bonus and profit sharing based on company performance in addition to other benefits that support the total well-being of you and your family.

Salary: $50200 – 75300 per year
