Join the dedicated team of professionals at the DOC and make a difference in the lives of others!DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Business Occupations Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching all Business Classes to inmates so they can develop skills which would provide the opportunity to work in a business environment. You will provide classroom instruction in a variety of subjects, including Microsoft Office programs (Access, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel), Business Law, Accounting, Business Math, and Financial Record Keeping. You will assign and evaluate homework assignments and tests; facilitate courses and assessments for students working towards a Commonwealth Secondary Diploma (CSD) and other educational programs; and develop project-based assessments which measure student competencies of standards.In this role, you will be maintaining records of students, including daily observations, lesson completion, attendance, student payroll records for Teachers Aids program reports, and lesson plans. Additionally, you will provide therapeutic care, custody, and control for inmates under supervision, as well as monitor inmate behavior and establish classroom rules and procedures to maintain an effective learning environment.Interested in learning more?   • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirement:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, education, business education, or a related business education field, which included or is supplemented by successful completion of either student teaching or a teaching practicum, in a business-related subject approved by the degree granting institution or one year of classroom instruction experience in a business-related subject.
