You’re an experienced paralegal, and you know your way around a courtroom – whether it’s handling family law matters or tackling litigation in Illinois. Responsibilities: • Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings • Draft legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits under the guidance of a lawyer • Conduct interviews with clients to gather information about their legal issues • Follow-Through: Track deadlines, follow up on outstanding tasks, and ensure cases are moving forward with attention to detail. • Discovery Mastery: Manage the discovery process, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, document production, and organizing discovery for litigation. Qualifications: • At least 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting • Strong oral and written communication skills • Must have great time-management skills, and organizational skills • Minimum of 3 years of family law and litigation experience in Illinois. • Proficiency in discovery, and understanding its importance in family law cases. • Familiarity with Clio, Microsoft Office Suite, and legal research tools is a plus.
