LIFESPAN is hiring experienced, compassionate, creative, hardworking, friendly, and reliable NC PreK Teachers to support children with developmental delays and typically developing children from six weeks of age until they start kindergarten in a blended, inclusive environment.No previous experience in behavioral health services? As Teacher in an Early Learning Center, you will develop individual goals for the students and plan and implement activities to assist them with reaching those goals. What you’ll do:

• Utilize the teaching strategies and center curriculum
• Develop individual goals for students
• Utilize goals to plan and implement activities
• Conduct and attend IEP or IFSP meetings as required
• Perform various routine procedures such as positioning, diapering and feeding
• Conduct home visits as needed
• Support inclusion and integration.
• Mentor children to help build social skills and relationships.
• Complete initial and ongoing training, and participate in staff development activities.

QualificationsWhat you need:

• Pass DCDEE criminal record and healthcare registry check
• Pass Drug Screen
• Pass driving record check if providing transportation
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Special Education and the appropriate B-K license

• Degree in related field such as Psychology, Child Development, Social Work, Speech Language Impaired, Counselor and Sociology will be considered for lateral entry in pursuit of teaching license.
• Commitment to achieve competency in required knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Note: Current First Aid/CPR blended or classroom certification is required. If you do not currently have certification from an approved provider, our American Red Cross certified instructors will provide you the training.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently (per policy)
