Description: SummaryHaygood United Methodist Church Preschool is in search of a Lead Teacher for one of our 3 Year Old Classrooms. This classroom has 7, full day students. Hours are 8:30-4:30. The teacher will create a caring and nurturing classroom environment where students are developing cognitive, fine/gross motor, social/emotional and independence skills through engaging, developmentally appropriate activities and play.Duties

• Maintain a safe and supportive environment for young children
• Work closely with staff and parents in a respectful and supportive manner
• Develop/implement lesson plans
• Help children use the bathroom or, when necessary, changing diapers while following specific health and safety guidelines
• Handle basic hygiene needs such as hand washing and nose wiping
• Prepare children for and supervise them during nap time
• Play with, read to, and interact with children at their level while also actively supervising the other students.
• Observe and note each child’s developmental progress
• Use modeling techniques, positive reinforcement and redirection strategies to curb undesired behaviors.
• Help foster children’s independence skills while closely providing developmentally appropriate physical and verbal support
• Log all snack, naps and potty trips into Brightwheel

Requirements

• Reliable transportation
• CPR/ First Aid
• Previous experience working with young children
• Effectiv communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Early Childhood
• MAT Certification
