Description: Special Education Teacher – Bethesda (Full-Time)Position Overview: The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to work with students at Bethesda in the acute partial classroom. This classroom is for elementary students.Start Date: 2025-2026 school yearBenefits of the PositionSalary (2025-2026 school year):Bachelor’s $63,830Master’s $65,971Master’s +15 $67,385Master’s +30 $69,097187 work days per year, 37.5 hour work week.10 paid sick days, 3 Personal Days, 2 Emergency Days(based on start date)Full Medical-PPO, Dental, Prescription, and Vision Coverage for Employee and Dependents on hire date. ($75.00/ month premium+ deductible)Required minimum 7.5% contribution to Pennsylvania School Employees Retirement System (PSERS).Required Qualifications:– Certification in Special Education PK-8 or PK-12or: in the process of obtaining certificate through alternate certification process (ex. PDE approved Teacher prep or Intern program)Desired Qualifications:
– Certification in regular education
– Experience utilizing Positive Behavior Supports
– Knowledge of various disability categories (i.e. Developmental Delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Speech and Language)Essential Functions:
– Developing lessons and teaching children in classrooms
– Conducting evaluations to determine eligibility for services
– Writing Evaluation Reports and Individualized Education Plans for students
