Industry: Artificial Intelligence.We are seeking a Sr Java Developer to join our team! The project is within IA-Based Marketing industry and is based in Chicago, IL. It provides artificial Intelligence-enhanced customer engagement that drives results across the retail, healthcare, telecommunications, and financial industries.About the role
We seek a skilled Senior Java Developer with 5-6 years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining integrations with external APIs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java, a deep understanding of API ecosystems, and a proven track record of building scalable, secure, and efficient integration solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless connectivity between our systems and third-party platforms, ensuring robust performance and reliability.Role Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement integrations with external APIs to enable seamless data exchange and functionality across systems.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient Java code following best practices and coding standards.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other developers to understand and translate integration requirements into technical solutions.
• Optimize API integrations for performance, scalability, and reliability, addressing latency and error-handling challenges.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to API connectivity, data mapping, and integration workflows.
• Ensure security and compliance in all integrations, implementing authentication protocols (e.g., OAuth, JWT) and data encryption where required.
• Document integration processes, API specifications, and codebases for internal and external stakeholders.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging API standards, and best practices for integration development.

Basic Qualifications:

• Intermediate/Advanced English skills with strong communication abilities.

Qualifications:

• 5-6 years of professional experience in Java development, with experience in API integrations.
• Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8 or higher), Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Integration), and RESTful/SOAP web services.
• Hands-on experience integrating with external APIs.
• Familiarity with API protocols and tools, including REST, JSON, XML, Postman, and WSS.
• Knowledge of authentication mechanisms (OAuth 2.0, API keys, JWT) and secure data transmission practices.
• Experience with message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS) and middleware for asynchronous integrations.
• Understanding of database systems (SQL/NoSQL) and data mapping for integration purposes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex integration issues.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have:

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and their integration services.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, Git).
• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, or OTEL) for tracking API performance and errors.
• Experience with telephony signalling (SIP, SIPREC, RTP, CTI).
• Experience with TailWind.
