This 9-month faculty position begins Fall 2025 at our Columbia, Missouri campus.Teaching and some service work will be required. Specific courses may include Graphic Design I, Graphic Design II/III (a stacked course), Web Design I/II (stacked course), Corporate Identity, Typography and Illustration. Service work will include attending department meetings and events (may require occasional evening and/or weekend commitments) and mentoring 1-2 senior design students with their capstone projects.Columbia College is known for its small class sizes, which enrich teaching and mentoring experiences. The successful candidate will join faculty and staff committed to innovative, student-centered pedagogy at an arts and sciences teaching institution located in Columbia, MO, one of America’s most livable small cities. The Department of Visual Arts and Music currently has six other full-time faculty. This position will support students pursuing degrees in the BA in Graphic Design, BA in Art, and the Bachelor of Fine Arts.Qualifications:At least a Masters in Graphic Design (or closely related field) is required. Prior higher education teaching experience is preferred. The position requires an ability to effectively teach undergraduate courses, a commitment to student-centered learning, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to use various instructional technologies. Additionally, experience developing online courses and utilizing distance education technologies is highly desirable.About Columbia College:Founded in 1851, Columbia College is dedicated to improving lives through higher education.
