- Provide expert legal counsel and representation to employers and/or employees (specify if applicable, or “both”) on a wide range of employment law matters, including:
- Wage and hour compliance (FLSA, Washington state law)
- Discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims
- Wrongful termination
- Leave laws (FMLA, WA Paid Family and Medical Leave)
- Employment agreements and restrictive covenants
- Workplace investigations
- ADA and other accommodation issues
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, briefs, motions, and other legal documents.
- Represent clients in administrative proceedings, negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and state and federal court litigation.
- Provide proactive advice and counsel to clients on best practices and risk mitigation strategies.
- Develop and deliver training and presentations on employment law topics.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in employment law at the federal, state, and local levels.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and support staff.
- Maintain excellent client relationships and provide exceptional client service.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Washington State Bar in good standing.
- 3 + years of relevant experience in employment law.
- Strong understanding of federal and Washington state employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to effectively advocate for clients in various settings.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and meet deadlines.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to professional excellence.
