Job Overview:Pembroke CSD is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to lead a 12:1:1 self-contained classroom serving students in grades 7-9 with academic and behavioral needs. This position requires a strong foundation in behavioral support strategies and a commitment to fostering social communication and academic skills that promote greater integration into the school community.Classroom Design:

• 12:1:1 Self-contained classroom prioritizing communication needs of students in grades 7-9
• Specially designed instruction to accommodate the varying needs of individual students in the classroom while focusing on access points of grade level curriculums.
• Student learning profiles will include a need for behavioral and social-emotional support for students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction tailored to meet the individualized education program (IEP) goals of each student.
• Design and implement developmentally appropriate learning activities with a focus on social, and academic skills
• Use evidence-based behavioral support strategies to foster positive behavior interactions and outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with families, related service staff and supplemental building teams to ensure ongoing support and student success.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including progress monitoring and data collection.
• Engage with school admin and colleagues to develop creative and appropriate ways to promote inclusion and integration opportunities within the broader school setting.
• Create a structured, sensory-friendly classroom environment that supports student regulation and engagement.
