This includes evolving our video content to captivate discerning collectors and stand out in a competitive market.Position OverviewWe are seeking a creative, tech-driven Sr. Art Director to join our dynamic Brand & Creative Team and lead all print initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Brand & Creative, you will lead the development of strategic, design-forward solutions that elevate and grow the GOVMINT brand. The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio rooted in print design, modern layout, and photo art direction, with a passion for editorial-inspired visual storytelling. This role requires a proven ability to manage and mentor designers, create compelling visual content, and bring a contemporary aesthetic to every touchpoint. A strong fit has a deep understanding of print production and leverages technology to streamline workflows, scale personalization, and drive cross-functional efficiency.Essential Functions, Duties & AccountabilitiesDevelop Modern Brand Design· Lead the evolution of GOVMINT’s visual identity through modern, strategic design.· Define and enforce contemporary brand standards, style guides, and design systems.· Oversee catalog and print communications to ensure cohesive, on-brand execution across all touchpoints.· Provide creative direction and hands-on leadership to develop compelling, design-forward solutions.· Collaborate cross-functionally to align on project goals and contribute innovative ideas that elevate storytelling and brand expression.· Champion modern design thinking, from concept to execution, to ensure GOVMINT remains visually relevant and distinctive.Photography Art Direction· Provide photo art direction that elevates brand expression.· Oversee photo shoots to ensure creative vision and brand consistency-be on set when needed.· Source and style props to support compelling visual storytelling.· Produce stunning editorial photography that feels authentic, immersive, and emotionally resonant.· Create imagery that is versatile and optimized for use across print, digital, social, and video channels.· Collaborate with creative and marketing teams to ensure photography aligns with campaign goals and visual identity.· Maintain a consistent aesthetic that supports the GOVMINT brand across all photographic content.Strong Leadership and Project Management· Serve as a member of the creative leadership team.· Manage a team of designers and give direction to designers and freelance talent.· Continually improve skills and introduce fresh ideas to the team.· Lead projects and guide teams in a fast-paced environment.· Manage multiple print design projects simultaneously.· Maintain schedules to ensure timely completion of assignments.· Self-prioritize workload and partner with Project Managers to meet deadlines.· Work directly with print vendors, providing clear direction and adhering to requirements.Create Technology-Enabled Efficiency· Embrace emerging technologies to increase speed, efficiency, and content personalization at scale.· Leverage AI to automate workflows, enhance segmentation, and customize print outputs more effectively.· Implement scalable solutions-including templatization, automation, and robust design systems-to streamline production.· Apply a tech-forward approach to asset management, minimizing time spent searching and maximizing access to key files.· Maintain a clean, organized, and highly searchable file archive to support faster, more efficient workflows.· Standardize project briefs and deliverables to drive clarity, consistency, and productivity across teams.· Integrate copy flow and proofreading tools to simplify feedback loops and maintain version control.· Collaborate closely with project managers to optimize coordination between design, copywriting, and production.· Use preflight tools in InDesign and Acrobat to ensure files meet pre-press standards and reduce production errors.· Limit unnecessary print variations-such as size and color-when appropriate, to streamline manufacturing and control costs.· Identify gaps in vendor technology capabilities and explore opportunities to enhance efficiency through better alignmentRequirements· Must have strong portfolio of work showcasing a modern design sensibility and range of brand design, print design and photo art direction projects· 4-year Graphic Design, Visual Communication or related college degree required.· 8-10 years of professional experience in design and art direction.· 5-7 years of photo art direction experience-including shot list planning, mood boards, sketching, prop styling and on set direction.· 3-5 years of experience managing direct reports.· High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant tools.· Experience with high-volume catalogs, strongly preferred.· Strong understanding of creative technology and AI to enable speed and personalization in print.· Must have strong knowledge of 4 color separation and print production process.· Strong photo retouching ability preferred.· Highly organized, excellent communicator, even better collaborator.· Strong project management skills.· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.· Excellent time management and organizational skills for self and others.· Proactive problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.· Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.· Keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.· Ability to collaborate effectively with copywriters, team members and stakeholders.· Experience with Monday.com a plus.· Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office.· This is a hybrid role, 3 days week on site in Eagan, MN· Previous experience in aspirational niche markets or high-end luxury products, like coins, a plus

Salary: $110000 – 125000 per year
