Description: The Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking a Intervention Specialist at Roosevelt Middle School for the 2025-2026 school year. We are a nationally ranked Division I District serving approximately 7,500 Pre-K through grade 12 students, in a vibrant learning community of 17 state of the art buildings in west-central Ohio. • Valid licensure issued by the Ohio Department of Education to teach Special Education
• Be flexible in your work schedule and be willing to attend/participate in professional development sessions
• Be willing to serve on teams
• Have the ability to relate to and teach students with diverse backgrounds
• Demonstrate enthusiasm in your role?

Preferred qualifications:

• Previous experience in an urban setting, not required

As a Teacher you will:

• Developing lesson plans and instructional materials and providing individualized and small group instruction to meet the needs of each student.
• Managing an organized and professional classroom that is conducive to learning and the development of the whole child.
• Fostering a cooperative and respectful partnership with families and encouraging parent involvement through classroom observations and volunteer opportunities.
• Maintaining close relationships with parents, communicating on a regular basis, specifically in regards to at-risk students.
• Actively engaging at-risk students in the learning process; planning and using appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students.
• Recognizing the needs of individual students and the entire group and offering support and flexibility as needed.
• Working as part of a cooperative and diverse team of educators and administrators to carry out the goals of our District.
• Utilizing technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
• Participating in professional development activities that are aligned with district and building goals, assigned subject content and the varied needs of students.

What We Offer:
As a contracted employee, Teachers work 183 days per year and 7.25 hours per day.Starting salary is $43,816.00 with increases for additional education and experience.Contracted employees receive competitive benefits.
