Description: Job Details:A vacancy will exist for the 2025-2026 School Year for an 8th Grade Social Studies (American History) Teacher within the Norristown Area School District located at East Norriton Middle School.

• Sign On Bonus – one time (In addition to Salary): $3,000

Qualifications:

• PA Certification in Social Studies 7-12
• Ability to work as a member of a team.
• Must be courteous and able to deal effectively with people
• Must be cooperative, congenial, and self-motivated
• Ability to complete task and run a classroom with minimal supervision
• Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI.
• Bilingual in Spanish Preferred

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide an appropriate program of education and training for the students.
• Utilize the abilities, skills and talents of all members of team to the fullest in educating the students.
• Prepare lesson plans in accord with the students’ IEPs.
• Administer individual diagnostic tests to assess the students’ educational achievement.
• Provide classroom management based on principles of child development and behavior modification techniques.
• Submit quarterly student progress reports to parent and district of residence administrator.
• Work effectively with the all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
• Develop professional relationships and a supportive climate which facilitates mainstreaming the special education student.
• Keep up to date attendance records and child tracking data on each enrolled student.
• Assume additional duties as assigned by program supervisor.

Schedule:

• Monday- Friday

7.5 hours/ day2025-2026 Salary Schedule:experience calculated per contract agreement not to exceed step 10Bachelor’s – $58,165 to $73,581 (Step 10)Bachelor’s + 24 – $62,490 to $81,256 (Step 10)Master’s – $66,299 to $88,419 (Step 10)Master’s + 15 – $69,165 to $92,419 ((Step 10)Master’s + 30 – $72,026 to $96,420 (Step 10)Master’s + 45 – $72,528 to $96,959 (Step 10)Doctorate/Master’s + 60 – $73,028 to $97,497 (Step 10)

Salary: $58165 – 73581 per year
