Our Lead Teachers work alongside a Teaching Associate for behavior and instructional support.Key Responsibilities:Design and refine curriculum maps, lessons, and units of study that meet or exceeds Common Core Standards while incorporating multiple intelligencesAssess student progress and achievement using diverse methods and data collectionDifferentiate instruction to ensure grade-level or above performanceBuild strong classroom culture through CWC’s social-emotional learning while contributing to the broader school communityCreate a joyful, caring classroom environment focused on community building and conflict resolutionEmpower students to be peacemakers and agents for positive social changeParticipate in internal and external professional developmentMaintain active communication and engagement with colleagues, families, and school stakeholdersContribute to school community and mission advancementMentor and collaborate with Teaching Associate (select grades)Qualifications & Requirements:Bachelor’s degreeCalifornia multiple subject teaching credential or applicable single subject credentialCLAD or BCLAD certificationSuccessful completion of CBEST or Basic Skills RequirementMinimum two years of teaching experience in relevant gradExperience working within a socio-economic, racial, and culturally diverse classroom setting and student populationsStrong group instruction and management skillsDemonstrated ability to work with children in a caring and respectful mannerCore Competencies:Curriculum development and adaptationData-driven instructionClassroom management and culture buildingCross-functional collaborationFamily engagementProfessional developmentSocial-emotional learning integrationCommunity building and conflict resolutionPreferred Qualifications:Fluency in a second language (ideally Spanish or Korean)Essential Skills & Attributes:Strong work ethic, positive attitude, maturity, humility, and sense of humorCommitment to a social-emotional learning classroom as the foundation of the cultureBelief in all student’s ability to achieve at high levelsExcellence in written and verbal communication and effective utilize skills with a diverse audienceExperience in ELL and special needs studentsEnthusiasm for innovative teaching methods and effective practicesAbility to adapt and implement CWC’s educational modelCitizens of the World Charter Schools (CWC) prohibits discrimination, harassment, intimidation, and bullying in educational programs, activities, or employment based on actual or perceived ancestry, age, color, disability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, nationality, race or ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, parental, pregnancy, family or marital status, military status, immigration status or association with a person or a group with one or more of these actual or perceived characteristics.
