The Environmental Scientist in this section plays an integral role in the Section accomplishing all of its goals and objectives as it relates to the responsibilities of the Solid Waste Program. Duties include, but are not limited to:Evaluating Solid Waste Permits, modifications, closure and post closure plans, etc.Coordinating technical reviewsCommunicating with regulated community, general public, and other state and federal agencies. Position-Specific Details:
Location: This position is within the Waste Services Section of the Waste Permits Division within the Office of Environmental Compliance. This position is domiciled at the Headquarters Office in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Career Progression: This position may be filled as an Environmental Scientist 1, 2, or 3.
Compensation: The Environmental Scientist 1 offers a Special Entrance Rate (SER) of $20.91 per hour. This is the minimum compensation that may be offered.
