Law enforcement work involves patrolling an assigned area for response to complaints or calls for service and for detection of violations in the enforcement of State laws and applicable regulations. Duties include apprehending violators committing offenses, investigating violations or complaints to assess and handle cases, collecting and preserving evidence and following the chain of custody, testifying in court proceedings, and performing related work. The N.C. The Division of Marine FisheriesThe North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries (DMF) is responsible for the stewardship of the state’s marine and estuarine resources. The DMF’s jurisdiction encompasses all coastal waters and extends to 3 miles offshore. Agency policies are established by the nine-member Marine Fisheries Commission and the Secretary of the Department of Environmental Quality. East of the Chowan and Roanoke Rivers. West of the Alligator and Pasquotank rivers. A successful candidate must meet the minimum requirement of the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards before starting employment.
