Compensation: Up to $120,000, based on experience About the CompanyAn established and growing consulting engineering firm with offices in the Northeast and beyond is seeking a Civil Transportation Engineer to support transportation infrastructure projects in the Long Island and NYC area. This firm provides comprehensive services across civil, structural, traffic, environmental, mechanical, and electrical disciplines, serving both municipal and private sector clients.Position OverviewThe Civil Transportation Engineer will play a key role within the Transportation and Infrastructure group, supporting the design and development of roadway, highway, and traffic-related projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level engineer to work on diverse public-sector transportation initiatives and collaborate with experienced technical professionals in a fast-paced, supportive environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the geometric design and development of roadway/highway alignmentsDesign roadway pavement markings and signageSupport work zone traffic control plans in coordination with traffic engineersAssist with drainage and utility design as it relates to roadway infrastructurePrepare reports, cost estimates, technical specifications, and construction documentsProvide technical oversight and mentorship to junior staffWork closely with senior engineers and project managers to meet project objectivesCoordinate with public agencies and multidisciplinary teamsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Civil EngineeringMinimum of 4 years of experience in civil/transportation designEIT preferredFamiliarity with roadway/highway design standards and best practicesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStationExperience with Civil 3D or InRoads/OpenRoads is a plusSkills & ToolsAutoCAD / MicroStationCivil 3D or InRoads/OpenRoads (preferred)MS Office SuiteAbility to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teamsWhy This RoleOpportunity to contribute to high-visibility public infrastructure projectsCollaborate with a seasoned and respected transportation teamSupportive, team-oriented environment with growth potentialCompetitive compensation up to $120,000 based on experienceQualified candidates who are looking to grow their career in civil transportation engineering within a stable and well-respected firm are encouraged to apply.
