Duration: 5–6 Months (with possibility of extension)Job Summary:
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Web Strategist to join Square’s Growth team, which drives the holistic public web experience and serves as a key engine for business expansion. This individual will collaborate cross-functionally to create, optimize, and lead impactful web initiatives across international and select U.S. markets. The strategist will be responsible for ensuring an engaging and high-performing public web presence that supports key growth goals and enhances the seller journey.
This role will report directly to the Head of Product for Acquisition.Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive web strategy for Square in partnership with Growth Product and Marketing teams, defining key objectives, goals, and KPIs across all public-facing web assets.
  • Lead short- and long-term strategy for the web channel to ensure high-quality seller experiences and sustained business growth.
  • Develop and implement high-performing web initiatives with a focus on conversion optimization and business performance, while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Strategize and improve core website pages and user flows to enhance performance and conversion rates.
  • Establish and advocate best practices from web tests and general web strategy across the Square organization.
  • Collaborate with SEO team to enhance site performance, page content, and overall architecture to drive organic traffic.
  • Partner with Product teams to align web roadmap with Public Web team initiatives.
  • Align with Analytics and Experimentation teams on measurement tools, implementation strategies, and usage to refine web optimizations.
  • Lead customer-based research in collaboration with User Research and Insights teams to gain actionable user insights.
  • Conduct regular voice-of-customer research, user testing, and data analysis to inform ongoing design and experience improvements.
  • Utilize analytics to identify performance trends and traffic patterns to drive conversion gains.
  • Translate strategy into actionable technical requirements and partner with development teams to deliver MVPs and scalable solutions.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 7+ years of experience in marketing, with a strong understanding of web standards and optimization
  • Proven ability to build website experiences that engage target audiences and drive funnel movement
  • Hands-on expertise in website and landing page optimization, with deep knowledge in Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)
  • Proficiency in web analytics and goal setting
  • Familiarity with front-end and back-end development principles, and understanding of technical constraints
  • Strong knowledge of modern B2B website best practices
  • Solid understanding of SEO fundamentals, including their impact on site architecture, content, and technology

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience working with content marketing teams or leading projects with a content-first approach
  • Familiarity with marketing automation platforms and Salesforce (SFDC)
  • Prior experience in B2B SaaS marketing

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree
