Join us in shaping champions on the court and in life.Learn more about Edison Athletics at:REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION LEVEL:High school diploma; BA/BS Education (preferred)EXPERIENCE DESIRED:High school/college participationPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Eye-hand, mind-eye coordination, physical
dexterity, the ability to bend, stoop, walk, talk,
and sit. The ability to travel between locations.OTHER REQUIREMENTS:College course work in the Prevention and Care of
Athletic Injuries. Knowledge of the sport.
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES

• Issues equipment and supervise the students’ care of it; check in and inventory equipment at the end of the season.

• Supervises physical examinations and be certain that every athlete returns the necessary form signed by the doctor and parent.

• Promotes a style of play consistent with the scope and sequence of the total program.

• Prepares a daily practice schedule and make continued efforts to improve coaching techniques.

• Dresses appropriately for coaching duties at practice and game time.

• Adheres to policies and procedures established by the Sioux Falls School District.

• Administers first aid to an injured player and take appropriate action such as notifying the family doctor, the parent, athletic director, and building principal.

• Communicates between officials and coaches in professional manner.

• Attends rules meetings and is familiar with the rules of the game.

• Attends coaches meeting as deemed necessary by Coordinator of Athletics.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
