Description: Description :DGA Group is seeking a dynamic and motivated Associate to join our Government Relations team. As an Associate, you will support clients navigating complex policy, legislative, and regulatory landscapes while contributing to a collaborative and fast-paced environment. You will work alongside seasoned professionals, gaining hands-on experience in research, advocacy, and strategy development. This role offers an exciting opportunity to enhance your analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills while making a meaningful impact on behalf of our clients.Location
Washington, DC (hybrid, with a minimum of three days per week in the office)Responsibilities

  • Work directly with and learn from a group of government relations professionals within a flat organizational structure where everyone pitches in
  • Be part of a core team focused on advocating for client goals
  • Conduct legislative and policy research, track legislation, federal, state, local, and international grants and contribute to fast-paced projects
  • Help to maintain timelines for client deliverables and organizational materials for the team
  • Contribute to marketing materials and events, and associated strategy
  • Draft briefing materials ahead of key stakeholder meetings and develop leave-behinds on behalf of clients
  • Collaborate across the DGA network to foster relationships and develop joint business opportunities
  • Attend virtual and in-person events, as appropriate, to represent DGA and our clients’ interests
  • Grow your skills as a problem solver, becoming comfortable operating independently and seeking counsel at the appropriate time

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in Congress and public policy from internships, or related experience
  • Interest and experience in one or more relevant policy areas, including: energy, climate, technology, healthcare, economic development
  • Comfortable dealing with the most senior people within the organization
  • Exceptional attention to detail and writing skills
  • Highly collaborative working style
  • Excellent research skills
  • International policy interest/experience a plus
  • Proficient skills in Word, PowerPoint and Excel and comparable programs
