Description: Kake City School District is seeking a dedicated and flexible Special Education Teacher to serve students in grades PreK–12. This position supports a small, rural school community of approximately 100 students in Kake, Alaska.Key Responsibilities:Provide specialized instruction to students with a range of disabilities, from mild/moderate to severe.Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with general education staff and families.Deliver services across multiple grade levels and settings (pull-out, push-in, inclusive).Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on individual needs.Maintain compliance with all state and federal special education requirements.Qualifications:Must hold a valid Alaska Type C Special Education teaching certificate.Experience working with a variety of disability categories required.Prior Alaska teaching experience strongly preferred.Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.Position Details:Start Date: August 14, 2025Location: Kake, Alaska (a remote Southeast Alaska village accessible by boat or plane)Housing assistance and relocation support availableThis is a rewarding opportunity for an adaptable educator who wants to make a difference in a close-knit, culturally rich community.
