Today, our St. Louis network consists of two middle schools, three elementary schools, and a high school.Job DescriptionWorking at KIPP St. Louis High School, you’re an enthusiastic educator engaging in students’ pursuits outside of the traditional classroom setting. You support students to express themselves through drawing, painting, and furthering their artistic understanding. You develop lessons that increase student skills and create culturally relevant artistic expression. You can engage students across St. Louis as an Art teacher at KIPP St. Louis Public Schools.Position Types: Full-time, Exempt, 10 monthsOn a day-to-day basis, you can look forward to the following:Curriculum Development and InstructionAdapt and execute a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculumDevelop academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics, and assessmentsUse data to inform instructional decisionsProvide students with daily feedback on performance and plan for individual learning needsHelp Build a Positive School and Classroom CultureEmbody and maintain the school’s values, policies, and cultureDevelop positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and staffEstablish and maintain strong communication with all parents and share progressEffectively supervise and manage a classroom of up to 30 studentsShow up for critical school events, including staff meetings, open houses, parent-teacher conferences, and moreDemonstrate a Growth MindsetPursue challenging professional goals each yearGive and receive positive and constructive feedback from your colleaguesParticipate in school-wide and individual professional developmentSchool-Based Staff must have the ability to…Operate a computer and office equipment on a daily basisOccasional moderate lifting, pushing, and pullingMaintain emotional control under stressInterpret policy, procedures, and dataCommunicate effectively (verbal and written)QualificationsWhat you bring to the table:Bachelor’s degree (REQUIRED)Valid Missouri Art K-12 Certification or Missouri Substitute Certification or willingness to become certified ASAP (REQUIRED)Experience creating an Art curriculumExperience teaching Art in a school settingPass Criminal Background CheckDemonstrated commitment to closing the opportunity gapAdditional InformationWhat we bring to the table:We are a fast-paced, energetic team and family with passionate people who are leading a movement to cultivate their best working environment.
