On Call Counsel is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Law Clerk licensed to practice in California to support our legal team in a full-time, remote capacity. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in insurance defense litigation, with a strong command of the discovery process and document review. This position requires excellent legal research and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative legal team.Key Responsibilities:Conduct document review for relevance, responsiveness, privilege, and confidentiality in active insurance defense mattersAssist with discovery strategy, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissionOrganize and maintain case files and discovery logsReview medical records, expert reports, and deposition transcriptsDraft legal memoranda, case summaries, and assist in preparing motions and pre-trial documentsSupport attorneys with trial preparation and case strategyEnsure strict adherence to court deadlines and procedural requirementsQualifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law schoolActive California bar license (in good standing)Strong working knowledge of California civil procedure and discovery rulesProficiency with eDiscovery platforms (e.g., Relativity, DISCO, Everlaw)Excellent research, writing, and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environmentPreferred Qualifications:Experience handling bodily injury, premises liability, or property damage claimsWork Environment & Benefits:100% remoteFull-time hours$40-47/hourSupportive and collaborative team cultureEmail your resume directly to Chelsea Johnson at cjohnson@oncallcounsel.com.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices laws.
