This position ensures effective day-to-day operation of instructional laboratory spaces. Responsibilities include managing lab equipment, coordinating lab activities, supporting faculty and students, maintaining safety compliance, and overseeing inventory and procurement. The role directly supports hands-on learning by creating well-maintained, safe, and accessible lab environments. Upon meeting the outlined criteria, you will be eligible to receive a $1.00 per hour increase.Schedule: This position generally works 40 hours per week, during the academic year (38, nonconsecutive weeks). After this date, the recruitment may close without further notice.Required Documents (2): Failure to include these documents by the first consideration date can result in the disqualification of your application.ResumeCover LetterResponsibilities:Lab and Classroom SupportAssemble, prepare, and arrange required materials, models, and equipment for student and faculty useMaintain and organize classrooms, laboratories, production studios, and storage areas in neat and orderly fashionProvide consistent support in production studios, ensuring proper equipment availability, functionality, and usageOperate and maintain production studio facilities and equipmentAddress student issues as they arise in laboratory settingsTechnical Support and TroubleshootingServe as first point of contact for instructional technology issues (iMac Desktops, A/V technology, printers, software, student laptops)Troubleshoot software, computers, and production equipment quickly to minimize learning disruptionsProvide onsite Mac operating system support to instructors and students in classroomsAssist in submitting and following up on IT help desk ticketsPopulate and maintain TV monitors with approved college and program-specific contentProvide event troubleshooting support to ensure successful completion of eventsProduction CollaborationWork and consult closely with other departments on approved promotional requests and educational training toolsSupport marketing and student services departments with scheduling and using production facilitiesCollaborate with campus events team and off-campus groups for production needsStudent Centered SupportManage peer-to-peer tutoring program and lab facilities managementAssist video, audio, graphic design, user experience & interaction design, students and faculty with equipment and softwareProvide expert instruction on Adobe Creative Cloud applications and specialized program softwareTeach proper use of audio and video production equipment and techniquesTrain students and faculty in new and existing equipment operationProvide solutions to student and faculty questions regarding equipment standardsInventory and Procurement ManagementMonitor inventory and supplies for Applied Arts programsSupport procurement process of goods, services, and materialsDistribute and dispense supplies and equipment for student laboratory useCoordinate repairs and maintenance of lab equipmentEvent CoordinationCoordinate program events including portfolio shows, career days, and student mixersSet dates, times, and manage marketing efforts (including social media)Ensure successful completion of all program eventsCoordinate catering orders for on-site eventsCoordinate advisory board meeting details and logisticsCollaborate with campus events team and off-campus entitiesKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesProficiency in Mac or Similar Operating systems and Adobe Creative Cloud Applications. Experience with or ability to quickly learn, video and audio production.Ability to understand complex processes and learn new technologies quickly and efficientlyKnowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, laboratory operations, equipment maintenance, and safety proceduresSkills in troubleshooting, maintaining, and coordinating equipment repairsAbility to develop and implement lab procedures, safety protocols, and operational guidelinesKnowledge of inventory management, procurement processes, and budget oversightSkill in engaging positively with all populations, contributing to safe and inclusive learning environmentSkill in effectively and respectfully communicating with othersMinimum Requirements:Associate degree or higher.1 – 3+ years of relevant work experience in one of the following areas: Video Audio Design, Graphic Design, Software, User Experience/Interaction Design, Web & Digital Media or similar.Madison College does not offer H-1B or other work authorization visa sponsorship for this position.
