Position SummaryBryant University, a nationally recognized leader in higher education, is currently recruiting for Adjunct teaching opportunities in the Politics, Society, and Law Department for the fall 2025 semester. Classes meet at our campus in Smithfield, RI. The fall semester starts Tuesday, September 6, 2025.We are seeking qualified individuals to teach:POLS 241. Introduction to International Politics:This course is an introduction to the field of global politics, also known as international relations. It focuses on a variety of interconnected topics, including the development of the nation-state system and political interactions among countries over issues of war and peace, human rights, and economic and environmental policies. We also explore the evolution and work of international institutions such as the United Nations and the World Bank, and non-governmental international organizations such as environmental and human rights groups.Available Sections:
Tues/ Fri 11:10 am to 12:25 pmTues/ Fri 2:20 pm to 3:35 pmPOLS 256 Introduction to U.S. Politics:This is an introductory course about the role of U.S. government in American society. After tracing the development of the U.S. Constitution, the course surveys a range of topics including Congress, the presidency, the Supreme Court, federalism, political parties and elections, interest groups, civil liberties, and civil rights. Contemporary domestic policy debates are also covered.Available Section:
Mon/ Thurs 3:55 pm to 5:10 pmSOC 251 Principles of Sociology:
Students survey and appraise the basic concepts, including theory and method, social processes and structure, culture, groups, socialization, inequality and social institutions.Available Section:
Mon/ Thurs 9:35 am to 10:50 am
Principal AccountabilitiesThis position includes teaching at the undergraduate level as well as contributing to student growth and development through active involvement in student related co-curricular activities.
Qualifications

  • Graduate degree (Master’s, ABD or Doctorate) in political science or a related field.
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Based on University procedures, adjunct faculty are typically limited to teaching no more than two classes per semester.
