Description:

• A valid Michigan teaching certificate with an art endorsement (LQ, LX, or LZ for Grades 9-12).
• Major or Minor in Specified Content Area – (Minor must have passed the Specified Content Area – MTTC Test).
• Must meet the Elementary and Secondary Education/No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 – Highly Qualified.
• Teaching experience in a multi-cultural setting.
• Knowledge of Common Core Art Content Standards, experience Unwrapping the Standards, and /or experience determining Power Standards, preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of multiple intervention strategies with individuals and groups.
• Familiar with Best Practice and Procedures for Art Education to establish a quality High School Art Program.
• Experience with Mastery Learning / OBE Outcome strategies.
• Awareness of the physical, social, emotional and mental development of the learner.
• Proficient and knowledgeable in the subject area.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, parents and staff.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of data and how it is used to inform instruction.
• Proficient with technology as an instructional tool.
