Description: The Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking a Career Connections Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. We are a nationally ranked Division I District serving approximately 7,500 Pre-K through grade 12 students, in a vibrant learning community of 17 state of the art buildings in west-central Ohio.   • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Current licensure issued by the Ohio Department of Education
  • Be flexible in your work schedule and be willing to attend/participate in professional development sessions
  • Be willing to serve on teams
  • Have the ability to relate to and teach students with diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm in your role

As a Teacher you will:

  • Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction focused on career awareness and exploration
  • Design and implement age-appropriate lessons introducing a variety of career fields and post-secondary pathways
  • Facilitate student self-assessments to help identify interests, strengths, and potential career matches
  • Integrate project-based learning and real-world applications into classroom activities
  • Organize and coordinate guest speakers, career panels, virtual/in-person field trips, and industry-related experiences
  • Collaborate with colleagues, counselors, and community partners to enhance career exploration opportunities
  • Guide students in setting personal, academic, and career-related goals
  • Maintain a classroom environment that promotes curiosity, respect, and student engagement
  • Use a variety of assessment methods to monitor student understanding and growth
  • Communicate regularly with families about student progress and upcoming opportunities
  • Stay current on workforce trends and incorporate relevant information into instruction
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives related to college and career readiness
  • Maintain accurate records, including lesson plans, student data, and communications
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What We Offer:As a contracted employee, Teachers work 183 days per year and 7.25 hours per day.Starting salary is $43,816.00 with increases for additional education and experience.Contracted employees receive competitive benefits.All employees receive professional developmentSalary details available below in the Springfield Education Association (SEA) negotitated agreement:
