Wayne County Human Services, Children and Youth Agency, is seeking a County Casework Supervisor for the Ongoing Protective Services Unit. If you are a motivated and results-driven leader who is passionate about the safety and wellbeing of our youth, we want to meet you!DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a County Casework Supervisor, you will train and directly supervise Caseworkers and one Social Service Aide engaged in providing services to children, youth, and families in need of on-going child abuse or general protective services. Supervision is provided mainly through weekly casework conferences and review of all casework dictation, service plans, and treatment plans. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with legal benchmarks and achieving timely permanency for children in placement.Additional duties entail preparing caseworkers for court, monitoring all forms and deadlines, compiling statistical information to develop reports, andcoordinating permanency review meetings. You will be directly involved in the planning of services and supervision of the provision of services for any child and family involved in in-home or placement services. Strong analytical skills are utilized to evaluate and make recommended changes to agency policy and procedures as per state or federal laws and regulations.Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. This position may require irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • This position works on-call, 24/7, on a rotating basis.
  • Possible travel requiring overnight stays, and possible after hours appointments or emergencies.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor’s degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
  • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
