Description: Our MissionTo improve the health of the communities we serve through contemporary, innovative, quality healthcare solutions.Schedule: Full timeWhat You’ll DoThe Director of Government Relations serves as the primary liaison between Freeman Health System and local, state, and federal government entities. This role is responsible for advocating for policies that support the health system’s mission to improve the health of the communities it serves. The Director will monitor legislative developments, build strategic relationships with policymakers, and lead advocacy efforts that align with Freeman’s operational and strategic goals.Responsible for arranging meetings with representatives in local, state, and federal officesRequirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Health Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 7+ years of experience in government relations, public policy, or legislative affairs, preferably in a health care setting.
• Strong understanding of Missouri and federal health policy, including Medicaid, rural health initiatives, and behavioral health funding.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a mission-driven environment.
• Travel to MO, KS, OK, and AR capitals required
• Travel to DC required

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience working with Missouri state government or federal health agencies.
• Familiarity with nonprofit hospital systems and rural health care challenges.
• Knowledge of the legislative process and health care regulatory environment.
• Preferred experience with KS, OK, and AR health policy and advocacy in addition to MO health policy and advocacy
• Preferred experience with federal advocacy in DC
