Description: The K-4 Art Teacher is responsible for delivering a comprehensive and engaging art curriculum to students in grades Kindergarten through 4th grade. The teacher will inspire creativity and promote an appreciation for art through age-appropriate instruction in a variety of mediums and techniques, aligned with state and national standards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Plan and deliver engaging art lessons that promote creativity, skill development, and knowledge of art history and cultural art forms.Develop curriculum aligned with district standards, state benchmarks, and the National Core Arts Standards.Use a variety of instructional strategies and materials to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.Create a safe, supportive, and respectful classroom environment that encourages artistic expression.Display and celebrate student artwork throughout the school and during art exhibitions or school events.Maintain and organize art supplies, equipment, and materials within budgetary constraints.Assess and document student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.Collaborate with classroom teachers, staff, and administration to integrate art across the curriculum.Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school-wide activities.Comply with school policies, safety procedures, and district regulations.Qualifications:Required:Valid State of Michigan Teaching Certificate with endorsement in Visual Arts (LQ or LX)
