Description: SummaryPeachtree Academy is a private school that is seeking a creative, passionate, and patient Elementary Art Teacher to inspire young minds through the visual arts. The teacher will develop and implement engaging art lessons aligned with curriculum standards, helping students in grades PreK-5 explore various art techniques, mediums, and cultural art traditions.
DutiesKey Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate art curriculum and lesson plans.
  • Introduce students to a variety of artistic styles, techniques, and materials (drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, etc.).
  • Foster a safe and respectful classroom environment that encourages creativity, self-expression, and constructive critique.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance, providing feedback and maintaining progress records.
  • Organize student artwork for display around the school and for art shows or exhibitions.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and administration to support cross-curricular projects or school events.
  • Maintain art supplies and manage inventory efficiently.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with special needs.
  • Promote an appreciation of art history and multicultural perspectives in visual art.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and classroom activities.
  • Participate in school events throughout the school year.

RequirementsQualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • State certification/license to teach elementary art (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Prior experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills and a nurturing, patient demeanor.
  • Ability to integrate technology and digital media into art instruction is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
