• Implement strategies to promote classroom community and to value each student as a vital part of the class
• Employ a blend of both direct instruction and collaborative, constructivist approaches to meet the needs of all learners
• Employ approaches that address multiples type of learners (visual, sensory, kinesthetic, audio)
• Emphasize that all students are capable and should be treated with high expectations, both behaviorally and academically
• Value and promote peaceful conflict resolution and creative and authentic problem solving
• Uphold school-wide policy of logical consequences
• Create and maintain strong parent relationships in our school community
• Attend weekly team meetings
• Attend weekly staff meetings
• Attend professional development workshops

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong commitment to Growing Up Green Charter School’s mission and green theme
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team of teachers
• Experience in environmental education a plus
• Experience with Elementary school grades ideal
• Ability in integrating technology into teaching
• Excellent organizational skills

• Starting salary is $62,902 (salary scale commnesurate with experience)

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• At least one-year classroom teaching experience

Required Certificates & Licenses: Teaching certificate, NYC DOE/Fingerprinting & Background Clearance

Salary: $62902 per year
