Description: TEACHING POSITION: Requires Alaska teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement (s) (for information visit: ). Must be Highly Qualified in Elementary Education.
Position Summary: This position will develop in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression in fine arts, using skills and techniques of vocal or instrumental music expression appropriate to the student’s interests and abilities; will discover and develop talents of students in the field of music; and develop knowledge and skills in listening to and reading music.Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education.
• Valid Alaska teaching certificate, or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Willing and able to meet the the federal highly-qualified requirements for an elementary teacher.

Preferred Requirements:

• Masters’ degree in education preferred.
• Attendance at Literacy Institute and/or further training in the teaching of reading.
• Successful elementary teaching experience.
