Description: Employment Law Attorney – Municipal & Workplace LitigationHybrid | 4+ Years of Experience | California Bar RequiredGPAC is partnering with a well-respected law firm seeking an Employment Law Attorney with municipal law experience to join their collaborative and collegial team. This position offers a stable work environment with long-term professional development opportunities.The role involves defending public and private sector clients in employment-related litigation and providing strategic legal counsel on workplace matters, including:
- Public sector employment disputes and municipal labor issues
- Workplace policies, including drug and alcohol regulations
- Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) compliance
- Employee disciplinary actions and investigations
- Retaliation, whistleblower, and wrongful termination claims
- Harassment and discrimination defense
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle all phases of litigation, from case initiation to resolution
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, and manage discovery
- Represent clients at hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and trials
- Provide counsel on employment law matters affecting municipalities and public agencies
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of employment law experience (municipal law experience required)
- Strong academic background and excellent legal writing skills
- At least two years of private law firm experience
- Demonstrated trial experience and/or trial preparation experience
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to diversity
- California Bar admission required
