Our rapid growth and breadth of accounts translates into exciting opportunities for our people!Job SummaryThe Executive Chef will oversee kitchen operations for a fine dining restaurant, fast-casual cafe, and internal/external catering at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Managing an annual business volume of $6-7 million, with catering accounting for nearly half, this role requires flexible hours, including weekends and evenings. Catering and prep may be required on Mondays. The position offers a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment for a seasoned culinary leader.Key Responsibilities:Plan and modify menus following established guidelines, ensuring consistent quality and presentationUse standardized recipes and portioning standards; complete production and waste logsTrain kitchen staff on food preparation, safe handling, equipment use, and sanitation in line with company and regulatory standardsEstablish and maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for all kitchen areas and equipmentMaintain inventory control for food and supplies, ensuring availability while staying within budgetMake decisions on leftover food usage per company guidelinesEnsure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations through audits and inspectionsFollow safety policies and participate in client satisfaction programsAttend departmental meetings and staff development programsPreferred Qualifications:A.S. in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience5+ years in culinary/kitchen management, with emphasis on high-volume, complex foodservice operationsExperience in fine dining, VIP catering, and fast-casual serviceHands-on chef experience and strong knowledge of food trends, production, sanitation, food cost control, and presentationExperience with menu costing, menu development, and operational management including budgeting and inventoryProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)ServSafe certification is highly desirableFlexible availability, especially for weekends and evening catering eventsApply to Bon Appetit today!Bon Appetit is a member of Compass Group USA.Associates at Bon Appetit are offered many fantastic benefits.
