Description: Our law firm is growing, and we are looking for a sharp family attorney who will zealously represent clients in all areas of family law.You’ll assist individuals in a variety of situations, such as navigating prenuptial agreements and attending court hearings for divorce, alimony/spousal support, division of property, child custody and child support, and protection orders. The best candidate will have experience with a wide range of sensitive legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence, and be able to maintain composure, negotiate, and argue effectively even in emotional and high-stress situations.If you are passionate about helping people navigate some of the most difficult challenges they may face in their lives, start your application today.Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in court proceedings as needed
• Keep client files properly organized and up to date
• Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process
• Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs analyzing the situation then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action
• Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed
• Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgements and orders for a high volume of cases

Qualifications:

• Experience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues (determining marital property) for at least 1-2 years is required
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations
• Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the State of Maryland
• Must have handled at least 40 hearings, 20 trials
• Demonstrated ability to educate clients through a family law case
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Family Law Litigation in Maryland
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, and attention to detail
• A compassionate advocate with experience navigating high-conflict, emotional cases with a client-centered approach
