Description: Job Title: Lead AI/GenAI ArchitectLocation: San Antonio or Plano, TX (Hybrid – 4 days onsite/week)

Job Type: ContractualAbout the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled Lead AI/GenAI Architect to guide the architecture and implementation of Generative AI applications and systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building end-to-end AI solutions using foundational models, vector databases, and modern AI pipelines. You will lead a team of engineers and collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-impact GenAI products.Key Responsibilities:

• Own and define GenAI solution architecture including:

• Model selection and fine-tuning strategies
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines
• Vector database integration
• Prompt engineering workflows
• Lead the design and development of robust, scalable Generative AI applications.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, MLOps teams, Cloud Engineers, and Product Managers to ensure safe, secure, and compliant AI deployments.
• Deploy ML models from development to production and support ongoing troubleshooting and optimization.
• Rapidly develop and iterate on Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) in a dynamic environment.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to a team of 7–8 engineers.
• Communicate technical updates and architecture decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Identify and solve complex architecture and infrastructure challenges proactively.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on Python.
• Advanced proficiency in:

• Data engineering principles
• SQL and database design
• API development (FastAPI preferred)
• Hands-on experience with:

• Apache Kafka
• Snowflake (or similar data platforms)
• ML engineering and production model deployment
• GenAI frameworks (LangChain, PyTorch, or equivalent)
• Cloud AI platforms (preferably GCP Vertex AI)
• Excellent understanding of software development lifecycle, testing, deployment, and operational best practices.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and adapt to changing requirements.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with:

• Java development (including Spring Boot and Java APIs)
• dbt (Data Build Tool)
• JavaScript and front-end development
• Familiarity with multiple cloud platforms, especially GCP and AWS.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Additional certifications in AI/ML, software architecture, or cloud platforms are a plus.
