Description: A well-established Legal & Lobbying Firm is looking for a seasoned Operations Manager to lead their lobbying and government relations teams. This role will be responsible for managing and coordinating various teams of lobbyists and attorneys engaged in state and federal advocacy campaigns.Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the efforts of lobbyists and attorneys on both state and federal initiatives
  • Direct the planning, implementation, and assessment of advocacy campaigns
  • Facilitate regular team meetings and foster collaboration across departments
  • Generate and deliver weekly reports and updates to executive leadership
  • Act as the main point of contact for major project challenges and ensure prompt resolution
  • Track project schedules, deliverables, and resource management
  • Occasionally travel within the country to enhance team operations and client interactions
  • Cultivate strong client relationships through consistent communication
  • Create and execute operational processes to boost efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, political science, public administration, or a related field
  • Over 7 years of experience in operations management, ideally within lobbying, government affairs, or public policy
  • Familiarity with legislative and regulatory processes at both state and federal levels
  • Awareness of compliance requirements pertinent to lobbying activities
  • Experience in leading remote teams
  • Demonstrated success in managing teams and overseeing complex projects
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Strong leadership skills with a background in managing professionals
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in project management tools and reporting systems
  • Capability to prioritize tasks and make decisions in a dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MBA, JD, or MPA)
  • Prior experience in a consulting or professional services firm

Benefits

  • Salary range: $250,000 – $300,000 (varies based on experience)
  • Bonus: Discretionary performance-based
