Apply today for immediate consideration.The Government Projects Assistant Project Manager – Alexandria, VA will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Project Manager in planning, organizing, and managing construction projects from pre-construction through closeout
- Assisting in preparing project schedules, budgets, and work plans
- Coordinating and communicating with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, and internal teams
- Tracking project progress and maintaining accurate documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and contract requirements
- Monitoring project costs and assisting in managing budgets and forecasts
- Procuring materials, equipment, and subcontractor services
- Attending site visits and project meetings, taking notes, and following up on action items
- Assisting with quality control and ensuring deliverables meet required standards
- Identifying and resolving project issues to avoid delays or cost overruns
- Contributing to closeout procedures including punch lists, final inspections, and turnover packages

- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction or project management
- Understanding of construction methods, documentation, and terminology
- Basic knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, and cost control practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project)
- Experience with project management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar is a plus
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Willing to travel to job sites as needed
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
