Until FilledVACANCY: The Valley View Public School District is seeking an individual to fill a full time ESL English/Language Arts teaching position for the 2025-2026 school year.JOB SUMMARY: The teacher is responsible to the Building Principal for: Planning instructional lessons that meet the needs, interests and abilities of all students, including those in the process of developing their English proficiency; creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning; and employing effective instructional techniques including sheltered English instruction and assessments.TEMPORARY LOA Position – November 17, 2025 – March 3, 2026QUALIFICATIONS:

• Applicants must hold the appropriate State of Illinois (PEL) Professional Educator License with English Language Arts Endorsement.
• Applicants must hold an ESL endorsement or agree upon hiring to enroll in an 18 credit-hour program that leads to one (tuition reimbursement and salary advancement benefits apply)
• Successful teaching experience (9-12 school level preferred)
• Applicants may be required to teach enhancement sections
• Demonstrated skill in diagnosing, prescribing, assessing student learning, and appropriate record keeping
• Knowledge of current teaching techniques, computers and multimedia
• Applicants must be able to structure a classroom to maximize student learning
• Applicants must be able to establish effective communication skills with a variety of stakeholders
• A commitment to the middle school program and philosophy
• Experience and willingness to participate in co-curricular program as sponsor, supervisor or coach
