Description: COMPENSATION: Per Teacher Salary Schedule based on education and experience. - Illinois Professional Educator License with High School Mathematics Endorsement.
- Knowledge of best-practices in facilitating student learning and differentiating instruction
- Familiarity with MTSS and methods of identifying students in need of targeted support
- Ability to conduct direct and indirect interrventions to assist struggling students
- Excellent commuication and collaboration skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, families, team members, and others.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The High School Math Interventionist is responsible for collaborating with administration, teachers, and other interventionists to effectively support students who need targeted assistance in math and to recommend improvements to curriculum, instruction, and academic programs.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: * Develops and implements methods for identifying students in need of math support.
- Provides targeted Tier II & Tier III math interventions to students in one-to-one and/or small group settings.
- Serves as a liaison between families and the school to positively promote collaboration to improve student academic achievement.
- Cultivates relationships with students to assist with their learning and progress.
- Participates as a member of school based teams to develop strategies for promoting student academic success.
- Recommends revisions to the building’s Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III academic systems of support for students.
- Identifies barriers to education and assists students in overcoming them.
- Supervises and works with students in the school’s intervention center.
- Acts as a liaision between families, staff, and administration in supporting struggling students.
- Collaborates with families and school personnel to support the emotional wellbeing of students.
- Provides staff consultation on effective instruction in math classes.
- Supports and implements District policies and procedures, regulations, and administrative directives.
- Adheres to the ethical standards and codes of conduct for the profession and to the established rules, regulations, and laws pertaining to special education.
