As such, the division’s role goes far beyond just acquiring lands for protection. It provides oversight for the management of activities on more than 12 million acres of public lands including lakes, rivers and islands. • Receives and responds to incoming communication regarding the LRGS programs.
• Conducts initial review and processing of applications and coordinates Programs staff on Program area assessments and technical assistance.
• Evaluates and analyzes applications.
• Provides program information and technical assistance to interested parties on the preparation of grant applications, management plans and stewardship reports in accordance with applicable statutes, rules and procedures of grants with the Land and Recreation Grants Section.
• Assists with the preparation of training materials, Report, webinars, and other publications that provide program information and guidance to interested parties.
• Contracts /Grant Proposal development, monitoring and closeout.
• Prepares written correspondence and reports documenting the results of assigned work and maintains related files in accordance with applicable statutes, rules, and procedures.
• Additional tasks as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of:

• Best Management Practices for office management.
• Data collection methods.
• The principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication.

Skill in:

• Using a computer.
• Using the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication.
• Collecting, evaluating and analyzing data relating to administrative functions such as report writing.

• Understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities.
• Work with various computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, graphics programs, computer aided design and geographic information systems.
• Demonstrate teamwork by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Travel.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Grant Management or procurement related work experience.
• Driver’s License.
• Travel is required (use of State vehicle).
