Description: A well-established, busy pediatrics practice in Mebane, NC is looking to add a pediatric dentist to the team! This single operatory practice is fully digital, has intraoral cameras, a Fotona laser, and is open to additional equipment depending on physician preference and skillset.The practice accepts most insurances except HMOs. Compensation for this role includes a daily rate and/or a % of net production along with bonuses, and offers PTO, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k matching, a CE allowance, with negotiable PTO/Holidays. The position schedule would be 8 am to 5 pm, Monday – Friday. - What is the address of your practice and how long has it been a dental practice?Mebane Pediatric Dentistry
- How many operatories do you have?1 OP, 3 hygiene, 1 Flex – has capacity for more
- Is your practice digital? Charts and X-Rays or just X-Rays?Digital charts and xrays
- What types of bells and whistles are in your practice? (for example, do you have a CEREC, or CBCT, or scanners or intraoral cameras?)Intraoral cameras, Fotona laser. We have other equipment in other locations and are open to additional equipment depending on Dr preference and skillset.
- What is the payor mix in your practice? (Are you PPO, FFS, Medicaid, DHMO?) What percentage of each payor do you typically see? For exampe: we see 50% PPO patients and 50% FFS…60% Private/40% Medicaid
- In your candidate, what types of procedures are you most interested in them having experience with? Please specify if you want Resin fillings Frenulectomy Pulpotomy/Pulpectomy Extractions, stainless steel crowns…ETCStandard pediatric dentistry (extraction, crowns, hygiene) and willingness to learn advanced procedures. If they have experience with the laser, hospital, frenectomy, pulpectomy that is our preference, but also will consider those that express a willingness to learn.
- What’s the first week for a new doctor look like in terms of on-boarding / responsibilities? Any training or official onboarding program?Depends on the need and experience of the doctor. Generally, we have both administrative and doctor support dedicated to them over the first several weeks. We will have them shadow a Dr in their designated location or have them train in another office. Some doctors need less time and others more. We are happy to accommodate their needs.
- 8. Do you have Hygienists on the team, and if so how many?No
- What are the days and hours of a typical doctor schedule? How many assistants do they get, and how many columns are they in? How many hospital days do they get a month?8-5pm Monday – Friday. Offices do a huddle prior to starting the day so we ask they arrive a few minutes early. Hospital days are up for discussion depending on skillset. We have assistants dedicated to each column.
- 10. Do you offer a path to ownership / partnership and if so, what does that path look like?Open to discussion.
- How do you compensate your doctors? Are there production incentives? What’s the average take home annually for your doctors? (For example, are you giving them a daily rate for a period of time, and if so, what’s the range for that? Same with percentage.Varies slightly depending on the skillset of the doctor. Generally, there is a day rate but this ranges depending on their overall contract. For specialists, it starts around $1,300 and then bonus kicks in if they exceed their daily expected collections. Bonus percentages generally around 33%. Targeted daily collections range from $6000 – $8000 per day. All parts of the contract have to be considered together, so you could have a higher day rate and lower bonus percentage. We have some doctors making around $400k per year and some making in excess of $500k.

- Do you have an employment contract, and if so, is it annual? What is your non-compete? What is your notice period? 2-3years, 15 miles noncompete, 90-120 days
- Why is this position open? If this is a replacement, what was the average monthly production of the doctor being replaced?Replacement. $130k – $150k per month

- Who do the doctors report to?Dr. Thome for clinical, expectation to work with Office Manager, Regional and other leadership positions
- What are your daily / monthly production expectations, if any?6k – 8k per day
- What’s your average new patient flow over the last six months?70 per month. Will increase marketing when new Dr onboards.
- What’s the interview process like? (normally it’s an initial call, then a practice visit, then possibly a working interview, then decision…just as an example)Initial call with Dr. Thome, practice visit. No working interview.
- Do you huddle in the morning, and if so, who leads and who is in attendance?The Business Leader, Clinical Coordinator and Doctor all take part in leading the huddle. All staff attends the huddle.
- How many total doctors do you have in the practice? Will there be mentorship at all? What is the average monthly production of current docs in the practice?1 Full time, 1 part time $130 – $150k
- How would you describe the culture of your practice? What type of personality do you believe would be the best fit for your culture?Since we are pediatric dentistry, we have a fun, collaborative environment. We are looking for Doctors that enjoy working with children, are collaborative in nature with the team, and want to provide excellent care to our patients. They should be forward thinking, open to new ideas and ways of learning and seek to better themselves in both dentistry and personally. Additionally, they should hold themselves accountable both professionally and personally, but understand none of us perfect and when we fall short, we are all here to help each other along the way.
