Compensation Range: $60,000 – 80,000 per yearWe are seeking a Web Developer with a strong foundation in back-end development, database integration, and interactive front-end functionality to help power the next generation of digital solutions. • Develop and maintain web-based applications using PHP 5.x, CodeIgniter, JavaScript, AJAX, and jQuery.
• Collaborate with database engineers to build robust data models using PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Design and implement responsive, user-friendly front-ends with modern best practices.
• Integrate mapping features using OpenLayers, MapServer, and ESRI ArcGIS or ArcMap.
• Create and maintain shell scripts (bash, ksh, csh) to support deployment and server automation.
• Leverage Perl, Python, or Lua for data processing and backend scripting tasks.
• Use Git for version control and collaborate with team members through agile workflows.
• Contribute to systems running on Apache and Linux, optimizing for performance and security.
• Analyze and troubleshoot application issues, and think outside the box to create innovative solutions.

Qualifications:

• You bring 3-5 years of hands-on experience with PHP, JavaScript, and MVC frameworks like CodeIgniter.
• You’re fluent in SQL and have strong familiarity with relational database concepts.
• You’ve got practical experience with web servers (Apache) and operating systems (Linux).
• You can script with the best of them-whether it’s bash, Python, or even Perl.
• You understand and have implemented responsive web design for real-world projects.
• You’re curious and quick to learn-whether it’s a new tech stack or a complex client need.
• You’re an effective communicator, both written and verbal, and can work independently or as part of a team.
• You think like a developer and a problem-solver-focused on both the “how” and the “why”.

Required Technical Skills

• PHP 5.x (3-5 years)
• JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery (3-5 years)
• CodeIgniter framework (3-5 years)
• PostgreSQL and/or MySQL (3-5 years)
• Shell scripting: Bash, KSH, CSH (3-5 years)
• Scripting languages: Perl, Python, Lua (3-5 years)
• Apache web server (3-5 years)
• Linux operating systems (3-5 years)
• SQL and strong understanding of relational database concepts
• Responsive web design

Preferred Skills:

• Git version control
• OpenLayers (JavaScript mapping library)
• MapServer
• ESRI ArcGIS or ArcMap
• RESTful API integration
• Familiarity with MVC design patterns
