Description: The Department of Art History at the University of Chicago invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher at the rank of Instructor. We seek a scholar in contemporary American art history who will further their own research at the University of Chicago while developing teaching experience. Preferred specializations include performance, conceptual practice, and critical theory. The holder of this position 1) is required to be in residence, 2) conducts research in a stated field of concentration under the mentorship of a faculty member, 3) participates in regular colloquia and workshops in the Department, and 4) teaches one to two courses each year. This position is expected to begin July 1, 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter. The initial appointment will be for two years and may be extended for an additional year upon satisfactory review.Salary Range or Pay Grade:$61,000-$70,000.
