Calendar: 201West Ada School District is now accepting applications for Middle School Assistant Principal positions as part of a hiring pool. As a Middle School Assistant Principal, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience for students at a critical stage in their academic journey. Middle school is a time of significant growth and transformation, and your leadership can have a profound impact on students’ academic, social, and emotional development.This hiring pool is intended to identify qualified candidates for placement at various middle schools within the district. The first review of applications will occur on April 11th. All interested individuals are encouraged to submit their application prior to the first round of review for full consideration.Following applicant review, candidates who meet the qualifications will be referred to a single-day hiring event scheduled for April 17th hosted by WASD. During this event, candidates will have the opportunity to interview with representatives from multiple middle schools within the district, providing a unique chance to explore potential placements across the schools.Placement in a Middle School Assistant Principal position will be based on the candidate’s experience and the operational needs of each individual school.PURPOSE
Promote the educational development of each student toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, social, and psychological growth and maturation.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
This position interprets and enforces district/school policies and administrative regulations, including the skillful handling of daily disciplinary and attendance problems, participates in the supervision of school personnel as assigned by the principal and in the development, determination of appropriateness, and monitoring of the instructional program, and helps administer the public relations program for the school. The assistant principal helps to supervise activities and programs that are outgrowths of the school’s curriculum and helps with the overall supervision of the daily use of the school facilities for both academic and nonacademic purposes. In addition, the assistant principal will prepare and keep in an organized manner, regular written reports and records as applicable to administrative responsibilities, will maintain active relationships with staff, students, and parents, and share in the responsibility of providing written and oral requests for information as requested by the principal, including school correspondence and news releases.Other duties include serving as a member of such committees and attending such meetings as the principal shall direct, and keeping the principal informed of events and activities of an unusual nature as well as routine matters related to the principal’s accountability. This position assumes responsibility for his/her own professional growth and development through membership and participation in the affairs of professional organizations, through attendance at regional, state, and national meetings, and through enrollment in advanced courses and the like. Duties of the assistant principal also include completing student referrals, ascertaining due process and carrying out suspension programs with strict adherence to the district/school discipline codes, assisting teachers in developing classroom management techniques, conducting behavioral management team meetings, developing documentation for school board meetings, participating in board hearings and facilitating the process of getting student and parents to such hearings.The assistant principal continually works to keep the principal informed of all activities and events of an unusual nature as well as routine matters related to the principal’s accountability and actively supports and promotes the district’s middle school program and philosophy. Additionally, this position will perform other tasks as assigned by the principal.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
