Description: Job Description:The Bibb County School District is now accepting applications for FY25-26 School Psychologist Intern.Reports To: Coordinator of Psychological ServicesEssential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in reviewing referrals and major responsibility for scheduling and conducting psychological evaluations and other required testing.
  • Complete eligibility reports in assigned county software program in collaboration with staff. Lead the eligibility process in IEP meetings.
  • Maintain caseload of students referred for evaluation and prioritize completion of such.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and staffing, when appropriate, to present psychological findings.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and debriefings.
  • Provide crisis intervention and therapeutic support for student population.
  • Participate in planning and conducting in-service and professional learning for staff.
  • Conduct parent conferences as needed to help parents understand the nature of their child’s challenges and recommendations for parent support.
  • Provides consultative support to schools in the areas of Response to Intervention and Section 504 Of the Rehabilitation Act.
  • At the request of the Program Coordinator provide monitoring and assessment observation, Functional behavioral assessments for specific students.
  • Coordinate and recommend to the Program Coordinator the purchase of evaluation instruments, as well as, be responsible for all assessment instruments.
  • Other duties assigned by the Program Coordinator.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:The School Psychologist intern must maintain highly confidential information in a professional manner. This position requires one be regularly, predictably and reliably at work. The ability to work well with students, parents, staff and the community is a must. High integrity, excellent character, and a good professional reputation are essential. The School Psychologist intern must be able to perform tasks involving sitting for prolonged periods. Vision, hearing and verbal communication are essential functions in performing required tasks, duties and responsibilities.Education, Training and Experience:

  • Enrollment in a School Psychology program and should be in their intern year after they graduate with a master’s degree working towards their education specialist degree in school psychology.
  • Must be on track in training program to meet qualifications for Georgia Educational Certification in school psychology.

Physical Demands: Tasks involve the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds).The Bibb County School District will provide reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities to allow them to perform the essential functions of the job when such individuals request an accommodation so long as the accommodation does not create an undue financial hardship for the districtSalary/Terms/Benefits:

  • 200 day contract year; 8 hours per day
  • Salary: $30,000 annually
