MTC is proud to operate the Tongue Point Job Corps Center in Astoria, OR where our staff provide quality services to our local youth. We value our professional and caring employees who are dedicated to improving people’s lives and we want YOU to join our team!What you will be doing: You’ll be responsible for monitoring, planning, and directing students engaged in center sponsored activities both on and off center. Put your fun and creative skills to use to teach healthy and fun extracurricular activities!Essential functions: * Plan, implement and coordinate a diversified program that will attract voluntary participation.

• Help students explore, discover, and develop their talents in our open art “gallery”.
• We have a large and comprehensive art room that includes ceramics, pottery (we have a kiln!), sculpting, sewing, quilting, painting, beadwork, jewelry making, glass art, mosaics, and whatever fun new craft you would like to add to the program.
• Plan and conduct various activities to enhance student retention and meet all students’ needs.
• Participate in Career Development Services System (CDSS) by creating positive peer leadership and role modeling techniques through activities both on and off center.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• One (1) years experience working with youth required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
