Description: Regulatory Scientist/ Food Manufacturing

• The Regulatory Scientist collaborates with food scientists, Specifications, Marketing, Procurement, Project Management, Legal, and Quality teams, providing support as needed.
• This role offers expertise in nutrition, labeling, and regulatory compliance to support business goals and ensure responsible marketing and sales actions.
• The ideal candidate possesses foundational knowledge of raw materials, ingredient functionality, and standards of identity for labeling.
• The Regulatory Scientist maintains Genesis records to ensure FDA label compliance, writes and validates technical label copy according to FDA regulations and nutrition and food science principles, and provides regulatory guidance while reviewing and substantiating claims.

Essential Skills

• 5 years of experience working in food manufacturing
• 2-3 years of experience working in food regulatory
• Knowledge of FDA food labeling regulations
• Experience with Genesis software
• Proficiency with label review software (e.g., Dragonfly or similar)

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• BS in food science, nutrition, biology, or related field
• MS preferred

Work EnvironmentThis position is 100% on-site at our Chicago headquarters. The role is a first shift position and may require occasional travel, particularly to customers located closer to Chicago than Toledo.The company fosters an all-hands-on-deck attitude, where team members assist each other as needed. This may include traveling to customer sites to observe product manufacturing processes or visiting grocery stores to evaluate product placement on shelves. Travel is approximately 10%.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.06 – $43.27/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
