Mooseheart is a residential child care facility located on a beautiful 1,000-acre campus in the Fox River Valley, just west of Chicago. We serve children and teens who need a stable, nurturing environment to thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Superintendent of Education / Principal to lead Mooseheart School, overseeing all aspects of academic programming, school operations, and staff development. This is a unique opportunity for an educational leader who is mission-driven and excited to make a life-changing impact in a close-knit, supportive community.What You’ll DoDevelop and implement educational programs that align with Mooseheart’s mission and state requirementsLead and supervise faculty, staff, and support teamsMonitor curriculum, instruction, and student progress across Pre-K through 12th gradeEnsure compliance with accreditation standards and DCFS licensingCollaborate with leadership to maintain a safe, engaging, and student-centered learning environmentManage disciplinary practices, communications, and educational planningOversee faculty development, evaluations, and school-wide performance improvementServe as a key member of the senior management team at MooseheartQualificationsMaster’s degree in EducationIllinois Type 75 Administrative Endorsement (or equivalent)Significant experience in school leadership, faculty supervision, and educational program developmentStrong knowledge of compliance, student support services, and instructional best practicesExcellent communication, organizational, and leadership skillsDemonstrated ability to lead with integrity, care, and strategic visionFamiliarity with DCFS standards and/or working with vulnerable youth populations is a plusAdditional InformationFull-time, exempt positionSupervises Assistant Principal, Dean of Students, Athletic Director, faculty, secretaries, and aidesParticipates in budget development and oversightLeads school events, improvement initiatives, and external partnershipsWhy Join Mooseheart?At Mooseheart, we don’t just educate students-we give them a future. Salary: $85000 – 93000 per year
